Rent

i don't think i should introduce the Pet Shop Boys.they are really a classic.
though they mostly play pop songs-there is this one song of them that always crawls into my heart-soft melody, and somthing in the voice singing "i love you-you pay my rent"-probebly does that to me.
this is "Rent".

you can watch it here or download it here

You dress me up,
Im your puppet
You buy me things,
I love it
You bring me food,
I need it
You give me love,
I feed it
And look at the two of us in sympathy
With everything we see
I never want anything,
its easy
You buy whatever I need
But look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
I love you, oh, you pay my rent..

sweet li'l thing

Eels is an American rock band formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett. Other members rotate frequently, both in the studio and on stage. This morning candy is taken from the album "Blinking Lights and Other Revelations"- which is a 33-track double album. Contributions were made by Tom Waits, Peter Buck and John Sebastian. Mark Oliver Everett said that this album "It's about hanging on to my remaining shreds of sanity and the blue sky that comes the day after a terrible storm". ..And this candy morning is just so sweet-that it must have been coming from these places…
Enjoy!!

Now i'm born

Yesterday I was sitting on the roof, listening to some music- when I've noticed a big cloud. After 5 minutes I was all wet –it was the first heavy rain.
Though today the sun is shining I choose a really winter song to open this rain,by katamine.

Katamine is a group that joins a cast of artists with the haunting music of successful singer/songwriter Assaf Tager. (Elliot Smith, Portishead, Moloko, etc.)

They got 3 albums-and this song is taken from the new album "forest of bebo" .it's complicated melancholic music- but it's worth the listen.
Enjoy!

Martha Wainwright is an American folk-pop singer, which covers "tower of song" by Leonard cohen. She is the sister of Rufus Wainwright which also participates in the same tribute album ("Leonard Cohen I'm You Man-OST"). It's a beautiful song, and it's even getting better with her gentle voice
I've listened to a lot of covers to his songs and I must say this is an album that's gathering many great performers like Nick Cave ,Beth Orton ,Antony and much more.
buy the album- it's a great one if you are a fan.
Enjoy!!

The operation

Charlotte Gainsbourg got a really impressive family tree. she is the daughter of Serge Gainsbourg (French singer-songwriter) & Jane Birkin (actress).
Charlotte herself is a well known actress (mostly you can see her in French films).

Now, after twenty years from her last album, she releases her new album "5:55".
"The operation" is a very well performed pop song. Her voice, though she sings in English, got a little French accent- and it does all the difference.
A really sexy song- the women version …
Enjoy!

Do you know these mornings that you just wake up too early, and you are not really consitrated..in anything? in this kind of mornings you need a special morning candy.

My latest trick

The Dire Straits are so 90's for me ,that sometimes I find it hard to believe I used to listen to them so much . Well, it passed...Though I must admit I do think they got some greatest hits I tend to like.
One of these songs is "my latest trick"- Though it sounds a bit old fashioned it will always remind me of beautiful youth times.
This is a- very- relaxing- tune for starting the weekend.
Enjoy!

Naked As We Came

Since the winter isn't coming as soon as I hoped it would be, I decided that the only thing I can do is to put another winter candy and imagine…

Iron & Wine is actually the stage name of sam beam, an American singer songwriter. He got an amazing voice,& since 2002 he managed to release 7 ep's,3 albums & to participate in one soundtrack-"In good company".
This amazing song is taken from that soundtrack.

Mr.Tough

American. Indie-rock.
They are not afraid of you and they will beat your ass.

Yo la tengo is a band that sounds like nothing you have heard before
(for the good and for the bad, of course..) .
they got really creative attitude with their new album's name "im not afraid of you and I will beat your ass" .in the special website named after the album they invite everyone to say it to the world.
check it out- it's fun..:)

this album is the kind of "one-piece" record. the songs do not always stand for themselves, but you got to listen 4-5 times and you are hooked.
Though I had doubts about putting one of the songs as my morning candy, I decided that it's so cheerful ,it has to be.
Enjoy!

Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love

Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love (1928) is one of the songs that probably have so many covers, that it's hard to keep track .
in the 50's it's lyrics were written all over again for a cabaret performances in Las Vegas and New York, in the 90's it got heavy metal covers, even The White stripes borrowed lyrics and themes from this song…
The version I love the most (except Ella Fitzgerald's version of course) is Alanis Morissette version ,from the movie "De-Lovely"-

I Will Follow You into the Dark

Death Cab for Cutie.
the band's name comes from a song performed by British jazz/rock/comedy combo the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour film...
they started out as an indie band, some kind of a student's project, and they become a successful band, which has a contract in atlantic records.
there last album "plans" is a great album, actually more of a "winter" album, but a very good one.
this video clip is an intresting interpretation to the song "i will follow you to the dark" .

"If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark".

fidelity

She is an unusual singer, very wierd one actually, but when she gets under your skin- you can't stop listening to her.
Regina Spector, originally from Russia,a talented pianist, does the kind of music that is hard to explain.she uses jazz elements, with beatbox sounds,& she sure experinces all kind of combination in her melodies.the lyrics (so she claims) are from her imagination & not biography.
check out this video clip- it's either you like it much or you don't..
